James Cross

Jim joined the Clemson University Libraries in 1987 as the Strom Thurmond Archivist responsible for the processing of the Thurmond Collection. In 1997 he became the Manuscripts Archivist for the Special Collections Library. He is responsible for the archival appraisal, arrangement, description, and preservation of the non-political manuscripts collections and helps provide reference service on all of the collections in the Library.

Jim graduated from Cleveland State University with a B.A. in History in 1979. He earned an M.A. in History and an M.L.S. with a concentration in Archives from Case Western Reserve University in 1982. Prior to joining the Libraries he worked as an archivist in the Richard B. Russell Memorial Library at the University of Georgia from 1984 to 1987. He is a Certified Archivist.
