Manuscripts

Most of manuscripts in the Special Collections Library are personal and professional papers of individuals, or records of organizations and business enterprises. These normally consist of unpublished textual documents and may also include photographs, manuscript music, audio-visual media, printed ephemera, artifacts, and other items.  In some cases, “assembled” collections –intentionally gathered material, usually on a particular subject — are also categorized as manuscript collections

This page provides links to finding aids, which are detailed descriptions of manuscript collections. Not all the manuscript collections in the Special Collections Library have finding aids, although all manuscript collections, as well as University Archives series have brief descriptions in the University Libraries’ online catalog.

All of the finding aids are in pdf format, unless otherwise noted.  You can download a free copy of Adobe Reader to access these documents if you do not already have Adobe installed.

University Archives finding aids are found in a separate listing.
