Hist 299 Class Learns About Ben Robertson

Dr. Michael Silvestri’s History 299 class visited Special Collections yesterday afternoon. Archivist Jim Cross gave them a tour that featured items from the Ben Robertson Papers. Robertson was a nationally recognized journalist, war correspondent and author who grew up in Clemson and graduated from Clemson College in 1923. His books include Traveler’s Rest,  I Saw England, and  Red Hills and Cotton. Robertson was killed in a 1943 plane crash while on his way to England to head the British office of The New York Herald Tribune.
